The loss of language-related diversity is a fact; in Europe alone many languages have disappeared, but Euskera has survived; to know the dynamics of the Basque language, its evolution, the factors that influence its day-by-day development and its transformation are items of general interest. The Sociolinguistic Survey of Euskal Herria operation (ESE) developed by the Department of Culture of the Basque Government sets out to find out and monitor the current situation of Euskal Herria among the three provinces of the Basque Country, Navarre and Iparralde (French Basque Country).
